Dr. Maxmen is the new owner and head veterinarian of Bradford Animal Hospital. He grew up surrounded by animals in Western Massachusetts, where both his parents were veterinarians and owned their own clinic. He attended UMASS Amherst prior to attending veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania. He then completed a very busy year of emergency medicine in Arizona before moving to the Bay Area in California, practicing both general practice and emergency medicine. While working as a veterinarian in California, Dr. Maxmen went back to school and attended U.C. Berkeley, obtaining his Masters in Public Health in Infectious Diseases and Vaccinology where he met his future wife, Kaitlyn. They both then went to U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine for a PhD program in Epidemiology.During this time, Dr. Maxmen decided that being a practicing veterinarian was more rewarding than academia, and he decided to devote the rest of his career to caring for animals. After 10 years in California, Dr. Maxmen and Kaitlyn moved back home to Massachusetts. He has worked in clinics all throughout Boston, but was excited to move up to the North Shore where he met Dr. TK and Veda, who were looking to retire and pass along the wonderful practice they built.Dr. Maxmen is very excited to be an owner and to provide a high quality level of care in a family-oriented practice.(Dr. Maxmen and Kaitlyn just had their first baby this past November, so any parenting advice is welcome!)

Meatloaf is just that - a big, lovable loaf. He loves to eat, meow, and "supervise" the staff. He likes walking around our hospital, introducing himself and meeting other pets. If you happen to be in, you may catch him lying stretched out in the middle of lobby. With not a care in the world, Meatloaf sure knows how much he is loved here at Bradford Animal Hospital!
